I am happy to tell you that incoming Chicago Plan participant, Ryan Erickson, has been selected as the Youth Director for our SS and DT congregations. Ryan is the son of a pastor. He completed his undergraduate work at Trinity University and also has an MA in Christian Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Before coming to us, Ryan had experience in working with his home church youth group for four years. He is well suited for similar work here, and has been involved in our own Youth Group as a volunteer this past year.
Ryan will have an opportunity to address the Youth Group this Saturday night. And soon after, I hope that you will get the chance to welcome him into our midst personally. Ryan has been part of our DT congregation this past year, and will soon begin having a presence in both congregations. His responsibilities will begin the second week of June.
We are all going to miss Kevin and Erin Schwartz as they move to Hanover, NH, home of Dartmouth, Erin's next stop in medical training! Please make plans on being at the SS service on Sunday May 22nd for a time of celebrating Kevin's work here. We will be giving a gift to Kevin at that time from our church family - your kids will have more news on how you can participate in that shortly.
Thank you for your prayers for the church during this season of transition. In the process of looking for a new Youth Director it became clear that God was leading us to Ryan, and him to us. We are excited about what God has in store for the future! Please also be in prayer for the other adult volunteers who work along side this ministry. Their commitment to the spiritual wellbeing of the kids has been incredible, and we need to be holding each of them up in prayer at this time as well.
May God see fit to grow our Youth Group to new heights as we enter into a new season of ministry!
