Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The Gospel liberates us from burdensome requirements, and yet, in this passage, we see that the Church is called to certain requirements to show love for each other.

Jesus explains how, since our Father provides for us, we can trust Him. Anxiety can actually hinder productive Kingdom living.

We need to maintain the purity of our faith by putting our faith only in Christ, and not in our works. However, we do see that living in the grace of God means living in obedience and holiness.

The coming of Jesus requires a radical reorientation of our priorities - particularly as it relates to our possessions.

God's work is done through His people, and it is our cheerful duty to declare the work of God for the glory of God. However, we are also promised persecution and tribulation, which ultimately force us to depend on God as they strip away the idols in our lives. And throughout this passage, we see the Church's role in supporting its members through these times.

When Jesus began preaching He announced that the Kingdom of Heaven, God's Kingdom, is at hand! Are you living for this Kingdom, or the kingdoms of the world?
