A Deeper Thirst

After several weeks of release from enslavement, the community of Israel is increasingly contentious with their living conditions—in the case of Exodus 17:1-7, the issue is their need for water. But more than a focus on their barren surroundings or even their need for physical hydration, is it possible that the Biblical story addresses an even deeper kind of thirst? The kind that is at the roots of our deep anger?
